IATA: 7.1% Increase in Demand for Global Air Travel in September

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) revealed a significant increase in demand for air travel globally during the month of September, recording an increase of 7.1% compared to September last year.

According to the latest data released by IATA based on data from the air travel industry in global markets for September 2024, total capacity, measured in available seats per square kilometer, increased by 5.8% year-on-year while the load factor for September stood at 83.6%.

This year, the travel sector has seen unprecedented growth, and demand for flights has peaked and this strong demand, which is good news for passengers and the global economy, is contributing to more jobs and increased trade."
